Titel des Vortrags:
Requirements stakeholder involvement: "RDM for the rest of us"
How stakeholder involvement increases software project success

Track: Methods Track

Level: Advanced/ Fortgeschrittene

Tag und Uhrzeit: 6. März, 17 Uhr 00 bis 17 Uhr 45

Abstract:

"Success" in software development projects is often a subjective opinion depending on which stakeholder you ask. While the developer might be happy with the result of his labour, the end-user often is not. Varying "degrees of success" exist between different project stakeholders. How do organisations then address this seeming disconnect between expectations of the various stakeholders and become "successful"? The simple answer is by aligning their expectations of course. In turn, Requirements Definition and Management is the very heart and soul of expectation management.

In this session, Corné Human (Solution Marketing Manager for Requirements Definition and Management, Borland Europe) will look at the issue of stakeholder involvement and some new advances in solutions which help organisations bring together their project stakeholders to improve the requirements definition of what a particular system should deliver - in terms both Business and IT can understand and relate to. Some key RDM process areas that will be covered include Elicitation, Analysis, Specification and Validation. At the end of the day, the secret to success lies in how you define it.
